Mystic Whaler Cruises
Fair winds from Baltimore to St.
Michaels!!
My wife and I just spent a great Columbus Day weekend aboard the
schooner Mystic Whaler on the Chesapeake Bay. Of note was the sail on
Saturday, from Baltimore to St. Michaels,
GOODSPEED OPERA HOUSE
Fabulous
We just saw "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" at the
Goodspeed. It was terrific. I think the casts voices were far better
than those on the Nathan Lane version Broadway soundtrack.
Essex Steam Train and Riverboat
Very good way to spend an afternoon
We were in the area in July of this year as part of our fly drive
holiday and saw an advert for the train so on the spur of the moment we
decided to try it and so glad we did.
Mark Twain House
So glad I went!
I had an afternoon to kill on a business trip to Hartford, so three
colleagues and I decided on the Mark Twain House. Our tour guide gave
us lots of interesting historical anecdotes that made the house come
alive
Peabody Museum of Natural History
very facsinating!
So much to see in this museum. Very nice collection.
Historic Ship Nautilus and Submarine Force Museum
Really worthwile
First of all, it's free, which is a great thing in and of itself. But
the museum and especially the USS Nautilus are so wonderful, I'd be
more than willing to pay for it. You do not have to be a navy or
history buff...
Hartford Stage Company
Great Shows (specially X-mas Time)
great place to see the show. very intimate setting, no seat is a bad
seat. Must see X-mas shows.
Dinosaur State Park & Museum
Who would have thought footprints
could be so amazing?
Connecticut is a haven for fossilized dino footprints. The displays are
excellent and very well designed. Whoever did the demos for this place
got it right
Wadsworth Atheneum
A nice time
Worth visiting-so much art with some rotating exhibits. The musuem has
a variety of styles of art-modern, impressionism, etc.
New England Air Museum
Excellant Museum
I was blown away by the collection they have. 3 hangers filled with
planes and helicopters. I would recommend it to people of all ages, and
probably will visit again soon.
