Many
tourists come to Death Valley, European & American each year.
The
Desert holds a strange attraction and beauty, there are
a
lot more things to see and do than I show here, such as a
ride
on the famous 20 mule team wagons.
You
Climb the mountains on a 8 1/2 percent grade to almost 5000 feet.
then
you start the winding decent on a 9 1/2 percent grade into
heat
like you have never seen before. I have been in many hot places
in
the USA such as Yuma, Arizona! But I have never seen
Hot
like in Death Valley. I seen a few birds walking around with
their
wings open and beaks open like dogs panting.
The
valley changes about every 5 miles, from sand dunes
to
stalks of grass called the devil's corn field and finally to
cracked
ground at sea level then still descending further
to
a staggering hot -285 feet below sea level..
Death
Valley Scotty was a prospector who claimed to
have
a gold mine (that no one has ever found)
and
lived in a castle he claimed to be his, but most agree
a
friend of his named Johnson and his wife built and paid for it,
and
supported Scotty. If you go to Death Valley maybe you
will
be the lucky one to find Scotty's gold,
It's
to hot for me to look.......
